Fitting your new build home with energy windows is being increasingly important - whether you are building a PassivHaus certified home or an eco-home with all the same technologies, you want an airtight building envelope and airtight energy efficient windows.
Once your envelope is airtight and you have minimised the air-changes of your house - you want to make sure you have well insulated roof, walls, windows and doors - to avoid any cold bridges.
Even a double glazed window from Idealcombi will give you great air-tightness and great insulation. Going with Idealcombi triple glazed windows will give you even better energy efficiency with u-values of 0.74 W/m²K for a standard size window and as low as 0.59 W/m²K for a large fixed light.
Idealcore for better thermal performance
At Idealcombi we have developed the window of the future, using materials with superior thermal properties. Our Idealcore™ has twice the thermal efficiency of traditional composite materials and timber, along with a number of other benefits.
By using the water resistant Idealcore™ in the “wet zone” of our windows we have eliminated drainage holes and cavities, improved ease of maintenance and improved thermal performance.
Danish building regulations
Idealcombi windows are designed to comply with and even exceed the current and future danish building regulations for low energy houses.
The Danish BR 2020 is very similar to the requirements of a Passiv Haus certified house – only the requirement to air-tightness is a little stricter and you are allowed more energy for heating the house.
Recommended insulation thicknesses for roofs and walls are the same just like the recommended u-value for windows is 0.8 W/m²K for both PassivHaus and the danish BR 2020.
Idealcombi will always strive to do better than the building regulations – ensuring you very energy efficient windows.
