Norwegian architects HUSGALLERIET has taken full use of the minimalistic design of the Idealcombi Futura+ series of windows and doors.

Futura+ and Futura+i has been used throughout the house; fixed light windows, inward opening windows and terrace doors. The front door is an Idealcombi Nation entrance door.

“Already in the early drafts we knew we wanted windows that was not placed in a traditional way in the wall. We wanted it to look like there was just cut a hole for the window and no more. The hole itself in the timber cladding is a few centimetres smaller than the actual size of the window. This was to create an extra shadow effect. To make these ideas a reality we had to find an inward opening tilt-turn.
We looked at several window manufacturers in Norway and in Scandinavia to find the perfect windows for this project.

The reason we went with the Idealcombi Futura+ system was primarily because of the design – no visible sashes on the opening windows, which means all windows look the same and the minimalistic design which works well with the lines of the house. Also the low level of maintenance required was important as the whole build has focus on low maintenance.
Last but not least the price was competitive compared to traditional Norwegian timber window manufacturers.”
